Management & Ownership Profile

Jairite Melissa Anderson-Cole has been in the healthcare and social service field for over 14 years and she is also a licensed Registered Nurse. Her extensive experience in these fields has led to the development of a homecare service program. Throughout her career, Anderson-Cole has shown an extraordinary ability to be a strong manager and leader. Mrs. Anderson-Cole founded Cudley’s Home Care Services, Inc. in 1997 and in her role as President and CEO, she has demonstrated the skills that are vital for running a successful business. Cudley’s Home Care Services is licensed by the New York State Department of Health as an agency that offers training, which prepares individuals to provide homecare service to the sick, elderly and disabled. Since its inception, Cudley's has trained over 7,500 individuals who have been placed in agencies, facilities and patient's homes throughout the New York Metropolitan Area.

Prior to founding Cudley’s, Mrs. Anderson-Cole has gained extensive experience and distinction in a variety of settings and continues to build her professional profile. Her experience includes:

  • Working as a Staff Nurse at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Bronx, NY
  • Serving as the Assistant Director of Nursing at New York United Community Hospital in Port Chester, NY
  • Working as a per diem nurse throughout New York City
  • Administrative Nurse Manager for the Hebrew Home in Riverdale, NY

During these assignments, Mrs. Anderson-Cole has been responsible for providing care for a diverse population, including patients suffering from psychological disorders, suicidal tendencies and drug addictions. As a graduate nurse, she worked at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility, where her duties included caring for inmates afflicted with AIDS.

Prior to her entry into the health care field, Mrs. Anderson-Cole worked as a probation officer and a case manager for a foster care program. Mrs. Anderson-Cole attended Utica College of Syracuse University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She subsequently enrolled in the Borough of Manhattan Community College and received her A.A.S. in Nursing. Most recently, she earned a Masters of Art degree as a Nurse Executive from Teachers College of Columbia University, where she graduated with honors and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. She is a member of the American Nursing Association and the American Organization of Nurse Executives and serves as an adjunct clinical instructor at Lehman College in the Bronx. She is also listed in Empire Who's Who of Professionals and Entrepreneurs 2005-2006.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Anderson-Cole has been steadfast in her commitment to serving the needs of those who are less fortunate. She believes very strongly in providing the highest level of caring and thorough patient care services and she instills this belief in each of her staff. Mrs. Anderson-Cole believes that this dedication to helping and caring for others is what sets Cudley’s Home Care Services, Inc. apart from other agencies. She states that “the future of home care will require a diligent, reliable team of individuals to help care for our growing elderly population. We at Cudley’s accept the challenges to come.”

The service we render to others is really the rent we pay for our room on this earth. It is obvious that man is himself a traveler; that the purpose of this world is not "to have and to hold" but "to give and serve." There can be no other meaning.
-Sir Wilfred T. Grenfell

Some people think only intellect counts: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage and seize it. But the functions of intellect are insufficient without courage, love, friendship, compassion and empathy.
-Dean Koontz

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the strong -- because someday you will have been all of these.
-George Washington Carver
